If you love it and decide to continue with the PADI Open Water Course, your DSD counts as Dive 1, and the cost of your Discover Scuba Diving experience is fully credited toward your course.

Beachside Briefing
Start your adventure with a relaxing beachside briefing overlooking Gili Trawangan’s turquoise waters. Learn the fundamentals of scuba diving and how we stay safe beneath the surface — all while enjoying the ocean view with your instructor.
What’s included:
- Introduction to scuba diving and equipment
- How pressure affects your body and the basics of dive physics
- Key safety guidelines, hand signals, and equalisation techniques
- Overview of the marine life you’re likely to see on your dive
- Open Q&A session with your instructor to build confidence before you dive
Pool Session
Get comfortable with scuba gear and experience what it’s like to breathe underwater in our safe, shallow training pool. Under the close supervision of your instructor, you’ll practice key scuba skills and build confidence before heading to the ocean.
What’s included:
- Familiarise yourself with your scuba equipment
- Practice breathing underwater and equalising
- Learn essential skills like mask clearing, regulator clearing, regulator recovery, and buoyancy control
- Build comfort and confidence in a fun, supportive environment
Ocean Dive
It’s time for the real adventure! Take a short 10-minute boat ride to one of Gili Trawangan’s stunning coral reefs for your first ocean dive. With your instructor by your side, you’ll descend to a maximum depth of 12 metres (though most of your dive will take place between 8–10 metres), exploring vibrant coral gardens and meeting turtles, reef fish, and rays along the way.
What’s included:
- Guided dive led by your PADI Instructor with a maximum of four divers per group — often just two per instructor
- Support from additional Divemasters for extra safety and comfort
- Optional photo and video packages captured by professional Divemaster photographers
- Dive time of around 45 minutes, depending on your air consumption

The next step is the PADI Open Water Course — your official certification to dive anywhere in the world. You’ll build on what you learned during your Discover Scuba Diving experience and gain the skills to dive confidently with a buddy, down to 18 metres.
Since you’ve already completed your DSD, it counts as Dive 1 of your Open Water Course — and the cost of your Discover Scuba Diving experience is fully credited toward your course. You can complete your certification in just a few more days!

Repeat DSD Dives
Loved your first dive but not quite ready to take the full course? No problem!
If you’ve already completed your PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you can join us again for repeat DSD dives— as many times as you’d like.
Since you’ve already mastered the pool skills and safety exercises, there’s no need to repeat the training. You’ll head straight back into the ocean with your instructor for another incredible dive on a new site.
As a result, the price of a repeat DSD is significantly less than your first time.
It’s the perfect way to keep diving, build confidence, and explore more of Gili Trawangan’s reefs — all without the time or commitment of a full course.
