Our Story

Founded In 1990, Blue Marlin Dive Is The Original Dive Centre Of The Gili Islands. For Over 30 Years, We’ve Helped Shape Diving In The Region — Growing From The First Operator Into Part Of The Largest Dive Network In Indonesia. The Reefs Around Gili Trawangan Are Where Our Story Began, And They Remain At The Core Of What We Do.

Our Mission

Our Mission Is To Turn Awareness Into Action. Through Education And Practical Training, We Give Divers The Knowledge And Skills To Understand Reef Systems, Reduce Their Impact, And Play An Active Role In Protecting The Marine Environment Around The Gili Islands.

Our Values

Our Values Have Always Been Rooted In Safety, Professionalism, And A Strong Family Culture. That Same Mindset Extends To The Environment We Work In Every Day. Protecting The Reefs Of The Gili Islands Isn’t Separate From What We Do — It’s Part Of Looking After What We All Come Here To Enjoy.

Why Conservation In The Gili Islands?

The Gilis Sit Within The Coral Triangle — One Of The Most Biodiverse Marine Regions On Earth — With Reef Systems That Support Turtles, Reef Sharks, And A Huge Range Of Coral And Fish Life. These Reefs Are Also Some Of The Most Dived In Indonesia, Which Means Small Habits Add Up Quickly, For Better Or Worse.

Over The Years, Tourism Growth And Fishing Pressure Have Shaped The Area, And Today The Health Of The Reef Depends More Than Ever On Awareness And Good Practice. Conservation Isn’t Only About Big Projects — It’s About Understanding What You’re Looking At, Recognising Signs Of Stress, And Knowing How To Minimise Impact Every Time You Dive.

With Thousands Of Divers Entering The Water Each Year, Education And Responsible Diving Behaviour Make A Real Difference.
